Position Overview

The Project Executive provides leadership, management and direction to ensure the successful outcomes for a large and complex civil construction project or for multiple smaller projects. He/she will be responsible for building win/win relationships with the owner, joint venture partners, public agencies and internal partners. He/she will also be responsible for generating positive revenue, negotiating, estimating, bidding, profit/loss of assigned projects, and supervision of operations staff.

What You'll Do



  • Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation

  • Oversee project execution. Manage and ensure compliance for all company and project

  • objectivities, policies and procedures

  • Directs all Project Managers and/ or Superintendents to ensure projects are built on schedule,

  • and within budget

  • Maintain a strong and positive relationship and interface with clients, unions and subcontractors

  • to facilitate construction

  • Manage financial and legal activities of contracts to protect company interest, while maintaining

  • a good relationship with the client

  • Build and maintain a high performing team. Plan, organize and staff key field positions.

  • Resolves issues, detects potential issues. Implements Corrective Action Plans.

  • Ensure compliance with project and Skanska’s DBE compliance program

What We're Looking For



  • Computer proficient and the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes

  • Broad and exceptional understanding of industry

  • Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Extensive leadership and management skills

  • Strong self-performing heavy industrial construction experience

  • Financial management and business building

  • Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction, Business, or Engineering preferred, but experience

  • may be considered in lieu of

  • MBA preferred but not required

  • 15 years of Construction Experience and/or experience in leading large complex projects
